UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Moldova is looking for qualified candidates interested in joining a local roster for potential temporary appointment (TA) to be based in the Republic of Moldova in the Registration and Information Management Units.
| Registration (multiple positions) |
The incumbent is responsible for supporting all activities related to registration, and with ensuring that registration is effectively used for the identification of specific protection needs, for the management of operations, and for the achievement of durable solutions. Depending on the size and structure of the Office, the incumbent may provide day-to-day supervision, direction and support to UNHCR staff engaged in registration and related activities (including Reception, Filing and Data Management staff), and monitors the efficiency and quality of registration processes, identity and entitlement documentation activities and population data management. The requirements include good computer skills, particularly in data management and basic principles of international protection. Knowledge of English language is essential.
| Information Management (multiple positions) |
The incumbent supports the production and dissemination of information on the population of concern, including but not limited to Protection and Programme information. The incumbent operationalizes data standards developed at the central level in field operations, compiles and explores data from all populations of concern. S/he supports the Programme Team and UNHCR’s implementing partners in the choice of indicators for monitoring to be included in sub-agreements as well as the Protection Team in operationalizing protection monitoring systems. The requirements include prior experience with handling confidential data and demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies, experience in web design and software development is an asset, ability to formulate IM-related technical requirements and Operating Procedures. Knowledge of English language is essential.
