Basic rules for a better essay

Tips for a good essay

We know that the inspiration is the key for a perfect essay, but you should know some rules to make it better.

1.A catching introduction.  The introduction is the base for a good essay, because it should attract the reader even from the first words.  Here you have to present your opinion, the main idea you are going to write about in the essay. Pay attention at this paragraph, because this is the first paragraph of your essay and it is your opportunity to give the reader the best first impression possible. The introductory paragraph not only gives the reader an idea of what you will talk about but also shows them how you will talk about it.

2.Developed body paragraphs. Body paragraphs are the content of your text and for that reason you should „fill” them with details, but not insignificant ones. You should expand it as much as possible with your strong arguments and you should convince and impress the reader.

3.Tie things together. Every sentence you write must be connected with the last one. And if you used “first” in the first body paragraph then you should use “secondly” in the second or “on the one hand” accordingly.

4.Use words of transition. These words are example of a transitional phrase – others include “furthermore,” “moreover”,”by contrast” and “on the other hand” – are the hallmark of good writing.

5.Read other people’s essays. Don’t copy them! Just as the books you read subconsciously help your own writing style, so reading other people’s essays can help you develop and build on your own essay-writing style.

6.A powerful conclusion! Conclusion is the end of the essay, respectively it should be the best part in which you say your final thoughts and it must be strong because it is your last chance to convince or otherwise impress the reader.

7.Tone of the voice. Even if it sounds weird, your voice has a big role in reading the essay. Your voice must be convincing. A confident tone of voice will help show the reader that you know what you’re talking about and reassure them that they’re in safe hands.
